New researchers have come to a conclusion that Jupiter’s core in transforming. Although this planet is known for being a gas giant, we have reason to believe the elements that make up Jupiter’s core are actually rocky and have defined shape and edges. As any solid would. It’s a very messy mixture and is constantly melting but this means that all gas giants may have the same similar characteristics. Scientists will not be able to recreate the conditions here on Earth because they are so extreme, so they are relying on their calculations. All the loose ends will be officially answered in 2016 when the NASA probe finally reaches Jupitar.
I think this is actually very interesting because if Jupiter’s core is transforming what does that mean for Earth’s core? Also what about the Sun’s core? The thought is kind of scary but it is also really awesome to remember how delicate our Earth is and yet we constantly feel protected. The gas giants have always interested me so it will be really cool in 2016 to see and hear what they found! I think it will lead to new discoveries and answers.
