Humble Protein, Nanoparticles Tag-team to Kill Cancer Cells

Scientists have discovered that when a certain protein that is found in the body is paired with nanoparticles, it seems to be able to find and kill certain cancer cells. It is even able to do this with out a load of chemotherapy drugs. Scientists had thought that the nanoparticles would only be able to destroy B-cell lymphoma cells when paired with chemotherapy drugs, But they found that it is safer and nontoxic when paired with transferrin. This is important because this finding could lead to a new strategy of treating cancer. Hopefully this will also make treatment less painful and just safer all around.
