In this article is starts out by saying that New Zealand’s scientists are warning their government that if they do not take into consideration the well being of an ancient frog that lives in the area were their government wants to mine, then they (The New Zealand Government) will be deeply sorry because according to the scientist the government will have the weight of an entire dead rare frog species upon their shoulders. These rare frogs live on the Northern New Zealand island and this is exactly were the government wants the mining to take place. Also, to make it even worst this “Prehistoric” frog is ranked currently number one on the edge of extinction list. To read more about the article click here.

This article is mostly important to the well-being of New Zealand. The reason I say this is because if their government does ignore the scientist and starts mining in the same area this entire frog species will be wiped out and cause all kinds of trouble in that area because the life cycles of food cycles of other surrounding species will be affected as well. However, this is only important to New Zealand  and I don’t really see any way it could effect anyone else really unless somehow the frogs lived somewhere we never knew about.
