What do phones, iPods, and battery powered cars have in common? They all have powerful lithium-ion batteries. But a common problem within them all, and all other lithium-ion batteries, is that they all take much too long to charge their batteries. Researchers at Mississippi State University discovered that by adding another oscillating electric field, and slightly increasing the oscillating wave amplitude, the charging power in exponentially increased.
This is important to us, especially our generation, because we need everything done faster. And it is especially annoying to us because we’re always on the run, trying to get things done faster. If this new information is implemented it will greatly decrease our wait time for our phones or iPods to be re-charged. Read more about it here.
