Human-Generated Sounds May Be Killing Fish

February 15th, 2010 by bakerca · 1 Comment · Biology

This article talks about how there has been a recent study on marine biology and they found a new problem. Sounds by us humans and machines used by us and also some sounds made by land animals are hurting, injuring, and according to this article causing immediate death to marine animals in the ocean. Also, it does not say anything about it in this article but a very big number of marine animals have died due to the navy and its sonar warfare. To read this article for yourself click here.

In conclusion, this is a very intense problem because if this study turns out to be true many marine animals will die in the future and this death of the animals will continue to happen because the humans on earth are careless and even if we do try to prevent it no matter what we do there will always be people out there that will continue on their path of destruction.

Fabulous article backerca. This was a very interesting topic. Can some of the sounds humans make really kill fish ? If so we have a big problem. We need fish and marine life to maintain a normal ecosystem.

I don’t believe that the sounds humans or their machines make can disrupt the fish so much that they immediately die. If this was true and was a major problem we would have government and scientist all over the world looking into it. If this is true then this is animal cruelty and will soon be punishable by law.

Fish and marine life have adapted to changes in their environment before and still lived on. I think fish will learn to handle these sounds or learn where they are so they can move away and stay away from them .
