If a male pets a cat trying to find any small object, a woman is more likely to find it because the thin fingers of that woman is more sensitive than the mans. Smaller or thinner fingers can feel tiny objects more than thick and big fingers. It is believed that a keen sense of touch comes from tiny skin-deep Merkel cells. These cells are scrambled all over the body in small groups. The fingertips and the lips are a prime example of the cells shown in greater numbers across touch-sensitive areas. Merkel cells are hard to find in a finger. So instead of trying to find a Merkel cell on a human finger, a scientist, Daniel Goldreich, looked for the sweat glands and found that they are larger apart on bigger fingers.
