This article is about a fungus called Crown Rot, whicheats through wheat and barley. This fungus normally eats through about $79 million a year. Because of this scientists and farmers are trying to develop a rot resistant crop. Not only will it stop crop loss, but it will lessen some sicknesses that this rot produces. This is still in its early stages, but it is getting proper funding so it might not take long. if you want to read the article then click here.

This will help the world not only because of less disease, but also because it will produce more crops and make more wheat. Some people will be grateful for this. The wheat farmers will be quite happy for this.

Keep it up mccurdkd. Thank you for enlightening us with your knowledge of Crown Rot. If we throw this $79 million away every year we will eventually hit the wall. Scientist need to band together to defeat this rot.

Without this rot there will be less disease in the wheat and barley therfore less people will get sick from eating it. With more healthy crop farmers will make more profit and be able to keep farming. Wheat is a key ingredient in a ton of every day food and is essential to the food chain. Save the Wheat…Save the people
