In this article I discovered that if you have a good conversion of light into sound can be achieved by concentrating the light sufficiently to ionize a small amount of water, which then absorbs laser energy and superheats, which then becomes a small explosion of steam, which can generate a 220 decibel pulse of sound. This will defiantly benefit the world and most importantly the Navy. Dr. Tedd Jones is doing this research with a group of other very intelligent scientists to make this work. The pulse has the ability to both be able to travel through air and water. This will help the traditional direct backscattering acoustic data which will make things easier for everybody.
