New Robot Travels Across The Seafloor To Monitor The Impact Of Climate Change On Deep-sea Ecosystems

September 11th, 2009 by milesna · No Comments · Biology

Have you ever wondered about the sea? What goes on deep down there? Well, in this article, a new robot named the Benthic Rover was created. The building of the Rover had started since 2005. This new robot has the ability to go into the water and is able to withstand high pressures of up 6,000 pounds per square inch. With this creation, the Rover is meant to take pictures of sediment and fish life in its way. The Rover will one day help scientists figure out how animal of the seafloor feed to survive. Also with the Rover, it will help answer oceanography questions, and will help the study of climate change in the ocean.

This article was very intriguing. With this new invention, it will help scientists figure out what goes on in the sea and will help researchers understand how deep sea communities are changing. I say they should continue on with there research, for it will bring more knowledge and new information to the world.
