Unlocking Wood’s Energy

Wood has energy? Scientists from Pennsylvania State University are growing a certain plant that is very useful. They are growing desginer poplar trees filled with cellulosic ethanol. Corn is the major ethanol producer in the United States but ethanol from grass and trees would be easier on the environment but harder to extract. Learn more about energy extracted from wood here.

This can mean alot to our future. With the prices of gasoline on the rise, new ways to power our cars are needed. Cellulosic Ethanol is one of many new ways to power our vehicles but the technology to extract more of it is needed.
