Lasers Reveal Photosynthesis

February 8th, 2009 by foleytj · No Comments · Physics

The Physics Department at Imperial College have come up with a way to see the sun’s energy moving through plants.  They used powerful pulses of light at high intensities to get instant pictures of how the sun’s energy works in a plant to make food.  Read more here.

This is a very important discovery for scientists to search for new energy solutions.  Knowing in detail how energy is transported can lead to many new things.  If scientists learn enough from the molecules that are being observed, someday they might be able to use it to make electronics much greater.   Q3 #1
