A study was conducted on people from the age of 70 to 89 years old. One group had diagnosed memory loss and the other group had no memory problems. They were both asked questions about their daily activities within the past year and when they were between 50 and 65. The study showed the people who watchless than seven hours of television a day have a 50 percent less chance to develop memory problems. It also showed that simple daily activities like reading a magazine or book, participating in social activities, playing games, or doing crafty activities such as pottery or quilting mad people 30 to 50 percent less likely to develop memory loss.
This is an important study because now people know that simple things like that can help them so much when they are older. It’s important to keep our minds healthy throughout our entire lives. This also proves how watching too much television blows holes in your brain.

This post is very good especially for our genration of children. They watch so much television and play so many video games that its no wonder that by the time they are 70-80 years old that their brains will turn to mush! The children of our generation need to kick those bad habits and start doing better activities so they can remember their childhood and be able to tell their grandchildren about it.
Wow. 30-50 percent is a lot. Especially because memory loss is starting to be such a big problem. We have to remember though, that generation is when TV first came about so they would watch more of it. We do watch a lot of TV in our generation, but seven hours sounds ridiculous.
This article proves that our behaviors do affect the way we develop. Maybe other things can cause memory loss as well.
a quote from this article that caught my attention:
” ‘…it demonstrates that aging does not need to be a passive process…’ -said study author Yonas Geda, MD, MSc, a neuropsychiatrist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and a member of the American Academy of Neurology.”
With the new reasearch scientists can do on our brains and thought patterns, a breakthrough in healthier habits has evolved.
