Recently researchers have been working to find a way to make devices, such as cell phones and mp3s, able to power itself without needing to be charged. These devices work by converting sound waves produced by the user to create energy to keep the device running. By using nanotechnology, they will soon be able to develop self-powered devices that do not call for replaceable power supplies. Also soldiers in war can benefit from this; they would be able to generate power for their portable equipment by just getting energy from walking. As our devices get more advanced they have a tendency to use more power, thus-forth making these self-powered will greatly benefit society.
If we just take a look around us we are able to see that everyday electronic devices are used by people everywhere. Technology is quickly getting more advanced every day. With these self-powered devices, it would make life somewhat easier. Can you imagine your cell phone never dying? To many this would seem amazing, and it may soon be possible.

As i read this article,it impressed me. My phone dies all the time and i constsantly have to recharge it. Doing this annoys me and i wish that it had an everlasting battery.
Nanotechnology would be an amazing thing to use for our phones. This would increase the profits for phone companies and help people everywhere.
Not only would this new technology make a profit, but it would be very convenient for the pace of today’s society. In our consumer society, everything is go go go! This would definitely contribute to the grab and go lifestyle.
Eventually scientists will be able to use the nanotechnology for bigger things like laptops. This would also be very profitable and convenient. It would work great for those late night papers or research. I look forward to when this new technology comes out.
This new technology is a great breakthrough for electronics. One of the biggest pitfalls of technology has always been that you can only use it for a few hours, you always have to charge it. With a 100% increase, as this article says, we would be able to not have to charge it at all.
I believe that this technology will affect many areas of life, especially one you wouldn’t normally think about. If this technology could be used widespread, we might see things like laptops being used during school(since no one would have to charge their laptop ever) This technology would help everyone from education, to business, to engineering, to medical, to gaming. It will affect all of the areas of life for the average person, and make it easier.
Although at first this technology may seem like a good thing, there could be drawbacks to it just like with everything else. The good side is what people have mentioned before. The fact that nobody would ever have to charge anything helps with many peoples jobs since they may be in their car or traveling a lot and hate having to stay in one spot to charge one of their many electrical devices.
The bad side to this is the companies who make the chargers and sell them for these devices. With the economy being so bad already, if this technology is mastered in the next few months to a year, many more people will be put out of jobs because there would be no more need for what they do. Companies could lose profit since they will no longer be selling the chargers, even though you could charge more for the ones that do not need chargers.
This article was very interesting. I don’t think I have ever seen any electronic item like a laptop or a cellphone that doesn’t need to be charged. It would really be a great progress for everyone including us. With a nonrechargeble device we would save mor energy too and money. The device itselft would be more expensive but we would save money in the power bills and stuff.
People could then take their devices anywhere without having to worry about re charging a batery and finding a plug. Thanks to this brilliant discovery I would be happier because my cell phone wouldn’t die. Technology is moving faster and faster everytime. People discover things all the time now and it would be really helpful if those discoveries are shared with the rest of the world to help us. This is a very good thing for us.
