Rhinoceroses are animals that have been on the verge of going extinct for quite some time now. It is even possible that there are only four left roaming in the open fields of the wild at this time. Scientists have been looking for ways to repopulate endangered species of all types, not just rhinos, but have finally made a breakthrough. They were able to artificially inseminate a female rhinoceros with thawed semen that had been frozen 2-3 years earlier. The first attempt had failed, but the second attempt was a soaring success, which resulted in the birth of a healthy offspring. Read the rest [here]!
I found this article extrememly interesting, because it proved that anything is possible now. Scientists are even developing a genome statistic bank for animals now, it shows how we’re starting to appreciate and value more than just human lives and acheivements, by developing ways to save entire species.
this is a great idea to bring the endangered species back. we could help out all endangered species by repopulating the earth with theses endangered species. Great subject for biology and its very intresting as well
