Chemists at the University of Ohio State have found a way to absorb all the energy contained in sunlinght. They have created a hybrid material that allows them to capture the entire color spectrum, therefore making it easier to absorb all the energy contained in sunlight. This hybrid material is quite a find. Usually the electrons will flow out of the device like a regular electric current, but with solar power, the electrons need to be caught. However, the electrons wont stay apart long enough to catch or ‘seperate’. With this hybrid material, they stay apart longer and makes it easier to separate the electrons.
This is definitely a very important finding not just for energy and solar power, but for the economy. With this, we can become more energy independent of other nations. Which would end a lot of unnecesary tension and stress for the US. Although we should not get our hopes up too quickly, this product is years from commercial use.
