Diabetes. It’s a growing problem in today’s developing world. In the past decade, the number of people in the world with diabetes has risen from 30 million, to 230 million. Those with the chronic disease understand the struggles and difficulties that come along with it, but a new discovery may help bring relief to those diabetics. Scientists came to discover that drinking chamomile tea with meals may help to lower certain side effects that come along with diabetes. Those side effects include loss of vision, kidney damage and nerve damage.
In an experiment, scientists gave diabetic rats a chamomile extract for twenty one days. After awhile, those rats showed an improvement and their blood glucose levels decreased. This new break-through could lead to the production of a chamomile based drug for diabetics around the world. Chamomile tea has always been helpful when it comes to colds, menstrual cramps, and stress. It hasn’t been until now that it has been tested as a diabetic drug.
