Karolinska Institute has been researching golf. They have discovered that this low-intensity excercise causes people to live longer!! This study is based on information from 300,000 Swedish golfers. I think this is a very important discovery. If this is true many people will probably want to start playing golf, because they want to live longer. Also, I play golf so this will make me live longer and that is good. Golf seems to be a very enriching sport and more people should play it.
The study did not include other factors such the participants lifestyles or their habits such as excercise beyond golfing or the fact that they might smoke or drink excessively. The scientists only studied the aspect of golf. Though it is true that golfing is very healthy because of the walking, there are many more details that factor in to a healthy and long life besides golf.
This study can have multiple errors , but regular excersize greatly improves heart and body health. A reason that can help their statement would be describing their lifestyles or habits other than golfing. A person can be a golfer but still be severely overweight, mal-nutritioned, or other things. It is healthy, but i think the article is too vague to be taken seriously.
