Synthetic Copycat Of Living Cell Underway

May 30th, 2008 by laurenda · No Comments · Chemistry

Researchers are currently trying to produce a duplicate, or copycat of a living cell. They have been able to create capsule shaped stuctures that resemble the surfaces of an actual cell. This new discovery can give researchers the ability to develop new ways in which to deliver medicine to diseased cells in the body, but, at the same time, not damage the healthy cells. This is possible because the copycats can transfer molecular information to the natural cells.

I think this could be a very useful improvement in the medical world. Many doctors or hospitals could use these synthetic copycats in order to help their patients. Ultimately, this will be a great achievement if the researchers can continue developing the synthetic copycats. These cells would contribute to more researches and can lead to even more break throughs.
