Determining Size and Frequency of Meteorites

April 29th, 2008 by smithjd · 3 Comments · Physics

Last week Scientists figured out a way to determine the size and frequency of any type of meteorites that have and or might hit earth in the future. They determine that a meteor that hit the earth 65 Million years ago might have led to the extinction of the dinosaurs.

This can help us as a planet to know ahead of time that the size of the meteor is a big on and help us keep the world safe and warn potential places of being hit by them.

If we could really know when metoerites were going to hit or even be close to earth we could come up with ways to prevent or get rid of them.

But how would we do that, how would we actually prevent that?

This is an interesting point because it is an actaul issue right now since things from space could head for us at any time

The thing that makes me debate this article, or make me not trust it is the fact that is talks about a metorite that hit the Earth over 65 million years ago. As christians, we know that the Earth wasnt around 65 milltion years ago.

Therefore, if they are wrong about that, then how do we know that there is a way to determine the size or frequency of the metorite? Sometimes, i think science is just made up :)

Kudos to micletle for the pick up. Be sure to read critically. Science is most definitely not made up…without the truth they do the best they can.
