Design Flaw Keeps Space Addition in the Dark

March 14th, 2008 by rafaust · 2 Comments · Physics

An apparent design flaw in an electrical component is preventing the new Kibo laboratory module of the International Space Station from being powered up. The problem needs to be fixed soon or irreparable damage could occur to the lab from the temperature extremes in space.

Is sounds like the type of problem someone should have caught on the ground. Read more here.

The problem needs to be solved or it could lead to other countries being flawed by the irresponsabilities of the designers of the module. This is a multi-million dollar project and needs to be taken care of like one.

As mentioned before this is a multi-million dollar project. Not to be obvious but is a station that is orbiting the earth, which means it is in outerspace! Last time I checked outerspace was not “just around the corner!”
To send a shuttle into space costs millions of dollars and a vast amount of time and planning. It seems to me that somebody forgot to double check the list of things to do and have. This is a project that has the power to unify countries, but not if people don’t stop making bone -headed mistakes!
