Bracketology Costs U.S. Employers $1.7 Billion

Did you spend some class time filling out your bracket for the school competition? If you missed out on a little education, you’ve got company in the business world. This Wired Blog post describes some scientific and statistical analysis of how to pick the winners.

Notice that I didn’t post this until after the brackets were due for our school competition. :-)

    i don t think that doing all of this research to win twenty or so bucks is worth it. if i had to do all the things suggested in this piece i would forget the whole meaning of the tournament bracket “filling out” and it would no longer be fun for me. i think that these people are taking this game a little bit to serious
